For sale is a beautiful Winchester 1895 in 30-40 Krag. Gun is NIB with all original paperwork. The wood has gorgeous grain. Purchased on another forum 3 months ago for $1025.
Another bucket list gun has come along so I need to sell this. $1000 picked up FID, matching Drivers license and COE.
I also have 1 box of 30/40 Krag that I will throw in for free

I purchased the gun from the original owner. He has never fired it. I have not either. It is pristine,
and has one of the nicest walnut stocks that I have seen from Winchester. Bluing is very deep and rich as seen in the pictures.
Gun is in Morris county and I could meet buyer at RTSP in Randolph. Face to face only.

Thanks, .30-40 was the first smokeless caliber adopted by the US Army. It eventually replaced by .30/06
It's a nice caliber, and is still readily available from several manufactures.
This was Teddy Roosevelt's favorite hunting rifle in .405 Winchester. He called it "Bad Medicine"
Theodore Roosevelt also personally purchased and equipped each of his fellow officers in the Rough Riders with a M1895 Winchester in .30 Army (.30-40 Krag). Of course it was a carbine length for them.

Yes Winchester is owned by Browning.... its been that way for years now. Some even claim that they are a nicer fit and finsh then the originals. Either way the M1895 has been discontinued by Winchester 7-8 yrs ago.
