So I had a good friend abruptly pass three weeks ago of a heart attack, 46yrs old. Pretty sure his wife wants me to help sell his gun collection. Problem is he has everything in a safe, and she doesn't know the combo [lol][lol][lol][lol][lol]

Any ideas? I don't think its some crazy 1/4" steel safe... probably more along the lines of a chinese wally world gun safe. Its a smaller safe... probably bout 4 long gun. I'm thinking get it out of the house, full of guns and ammo, with a dolly. I don't know if any of the guns are in there loaded. I would assume there is at least one loaded pistol in that thing. Gently lay it down in its back. Use a crowbar and a 4ft bar to pry the door off.

Can locksmiths crack the door lock?

Thanks!

About 10 years ago the S&G lock on my 44 Gun Browning Safe malfunctioned. My department weapon was locked inside. I contacted a local lock smith and they sent over a safe cracker. He removed the safe dial and drilled three holes into the safe door then used a camera and picks open the it. Turned out the rear tumbler fell off the lock shaft. The whole stop and go process took 5 hours. The next day he installed a new lock, filled the holes and primed the area under the lock. If your talking about a cheap gun cabinet it can be opened in less then an hour.

try calling Mr Keys in Bricktown they have several locksmiths on call

All good advice. I'd check a few places inside the house first. If in basement some people write the combination on a ceiling joist elsewhere in the basement. Also he must have a filing cabinet somewhere with manual etc. Maybe there you would find the combination.

Whatever you do, don't tell the widow about the actual value of the guns inside. When she finds out what her late hubby ACTUALLY paid for them, she'll want to kill him again.
Like others said though, if its just a cheapo safe or cabinet, a carbide bit will make short work of that lock.
Sorry to hear about your friend, RIP.
