Well had surgery on April 9th Doc said I could not shoot a gun or lift anything more than 10lbs until the last week in May. I asked if it was safe to walk the woods and she said OK as long as I am not lifting or shooting and I walked with stick to help maintain balance so I took a friend to my spot. He agreed to carry all gear and set up tent and I would call for him and do no work. At 5:35 heard the 1st gobble I answered back LOUDLY then stopped. The tom cam across an open field about 300 yards quiet until the last 100 yards he let out one more gobble then started dancing, I told my partner get it ready I will bring him in. Just then a hen came into the decoys from behind me heading across the field and I thought she would draw the tome away but after that tom heard my sexy purs and clucks he turned away from the live hen and strutted right to my decoys, then my partner put the hammer down and the hevi metal shot put him right down at 46yards. I was greatfull to the Lord for healing me enough to at least to be in the woods calling them in, now look out D week by then I will be able to carry my own Load.
