There's almost 1 million police officers in the United States. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS are filmed on a daily basis. So 99% of LEO's DON'T do what this Marshall did. As a matter of fact I was filmed on at least 3 different occasions just today, and I don't recall breaking any phones.. But hey, generalize all cops because of this guys actions, that's cool [up]
How exactly do you think I generalized all cops? That they behave badly, or that they don't want to be filmed? Perhaps, I should have written: ".... why many cops don't want to be filmed". Does that make you happy? I don't think it really changes anything about what was written.

Well, if your going to bash someone at least spell their title correctly. It's US Marshal. Otherwise, I don't no why everyone is so quick to believe these videos that are almost always filmed by another perp. You never see the full scene only that which will down play the officer. Not before, no history of the case just pure focus on the cop. Not what the woman was doing prior, during, or fully after the incident. Not sticking up for his actions, just an observation. Most cops have no problems with people filming and it is their right to do so. It is not ok to film and be within the restricted space of an investigation, that I have a problem with. You want to film, fine by me but you go 100 feet away or whatever it takes to be out of the area of the investigation. Both for your safety and the safety of the officer. Just saying.

Sorry teacher, I mean officer, you got all that from the "almost always by another Perp" video? I saw the video, and read what news was in print, and you are correct people, show what sells news, and what the people not selling, what they want the world to believe. Does it appear from your professional opinion that she appears to be within the "restricted space or an investigation?

as far as seeing the "whole" video, its amazing how many time ya hear in the "police" videos, turn everything off, filming stops. But that OK.
This is not the first time cell phones have been smashed.

Not all cops need to be bashed, but IMHO this one does, (from what could be seen)

Good for him! must be another LEO[cry] Well, I hope you have that same felling if the woman was your mother, wife or sister!
nope not a LEO just not an anti cop like you. And I have no worries because none of my female family members would be stupid enough to do what she did. Most people with any type of intelligence would've backed off and let them do their job but she decided to push their buttons so she got what she deserved

I agree with you. I just said that in my post, that I am not sticking up for the officers actions at all. My point however, is that it is not up me or you to decide based on a cellphone video across the street whether she was within a restricted area of the investigation. Why? Because once again, we are watching a video clip of an investigation of a case we know zero about. It's up to the officer at the scene to make the decision not what me or you or any other keyboard commando thinks should be done based on a very limited video clip. That's my point. I see what happened like everyone else but everyone is so quick to just focus on that act instead of thinking to themselves what else happened at the scene prior to the short edited clips that are most frequently watched. There are currently bills in many states being introduced that require a certain filming distance from the officer or investigation. This is nothing new and has been a big deal since cell phone cameras got so popular. Like I said earlier, the public has all the rights in the world to film the police, but do it from a safe distance and don't be an asshole about it.

People are so quick to bash Leo's but have no problem calling them when they need them.
sure there's some bad apples. They do a tough job most Leo's I ran across are nice guys doing a job.
so many people are now pushing officers to the edge just to get it on video, so they can get there 15 mins of fame.
like I said I'm stick up bad cops. But their are a lot more good cops then bad.

What's your point? Yes, I'll criticize the police if I feel its warranted, and yes, I'll call them if they are needed. You act like the police are doing the public a personal favor that should be withheld if the police are criticized. It makes as much sense as, "people always want to criticize teachers and school budgets, but they have no problem sending their kids to school".

Lol, so I guess similar to the Outlaws motorcycle club, whom represent the 1% of outlaw bikers. The US Marshalls represent the 1% of outlaw police?

LOL - My point simply was that everyday thousands of cops (marshals, locals, state, ect..) go out and do great things. Every day thousands of cops are filmed, and don't react like this Marshal. It's not fair to paint all LEO's with the same broad brush. That's all I was trying to say, nothing more, nothing less.
