A Strutting Hen????????????

I never saw one before until this morning and yes I am sure it was a hen. She came in first and then 3 jakes followed her in and started strutting right in front of me. The hen fanned her tail, dropped her wings to the ground and started to strut right along with the 3 jakes. It was pretty cool and I wish I had a video camera with me.
Anyone else ever see this behavior before?

I never have, but it seems like they do strut. But it's rare.

I have seen the same once before several years ago. The hen had her tail fanned out and was very vocal. The more I would hen call to her the more agitated she became.

I saw one last week puffed up, dragging her wing tips and briefly fanning her tail, but never left it up to strut around.

Very unusual... I saw a big jake(4 or 5 inch beard) chasing a hen up and down the mountain today covering hundreds of yards. It was like a buck chasing a doe. It was going on for 15 or minutes that I saw. I don't recall seeing a chase like that before.

I had a hen strut last season all around my Avian x decoy. Pretty cool. She would peck the decoy and jump back then strut. Went on for 15 minutes

I have seen them sort of strut and fan, but never heard one gobble. Most of the time I see them like this in the late morning all by their lonesome...
