How can you get out of juror duty? I got a dumb letter in the mail to go for jury duty in mays landing for criminal court I have to figure out a way to get out of it I have no time for nonsense and I need to make money by working not missing time sitting in a court room any suggestions will help I'm sure maybe I'll go online and answer the questions in retarded fashion they'll probably think I'm nuts I think I'm going to tell them I dressed up as a gestapo officer and went into a bar mitzvah

Tell them it will be a financial hardship and you won't be able to pay your mortgage as you don't get paid when you are not st work.

Join the club bro, I have to call in for trial on April 27th. They don't care that I'm a sole proprietor of my own business. They tried to get me there in the middle of the winter I told them no way, my customers would freeze to death. Now I have to report in the spring. Maybe I'll tell them I'm a grand wizard in the KKK during my interview, and anyone that's a Democrat, against the 2nd amendment, for abortion, or not white is automatically guilty to me. [emoji1] Although non of that's true. I guess it's my civic duty.

do you volunteer ? like fire, ambulance, etc. that is one of the very few that works and is allowed. Being a LEO you would think that would help, NOPE....Teachers use to be exempt. I got called three years in a row when I lived in Bergen County, and the court clerk tried to get me exempt the 2nd and 3rd time, judge said NO !!! Then I wasn't called for years, moved out of Bergen County, and I then got called again, I called Bergen County and told them I moved out 4 months prior to the letter, the clerk told me I still need to report, but once I got a hold of another person it was taken care of.....I just jinxed myself, tomorrow I will get a letter.

I used to be on the Fire department in the last town I lived in. Had to quit when I started plumbing apprenticeship school. Now I have my own company and I don't have time to volunteer either. Nor do I have time to play petit juror.

Like voting, it's a civic duty - if you don't participate in the system, you have no right to complain about the outcome. Abuse of the system should be prosecuted.
