I have been trying to do research on the best center console for my needs and the conditions of NJ. Looking for 22 to 27 foot center console. The boat will be used for fluke, stripers and maybe some off shore trips for sharks. With the fishing, I will also be using the boat for some cruising around with the girlfriend and kids. I am looking to spend around 35k on a used boat. I like the 23 CC Maycraft for the no frills fishing purpose. I love my friends Mako in the 23 foot. I might go look at a 2010 Sea Fox 256cc Pro Series but have read some bad reviews.

If anyone has some personal experience with center consoles and the conditions commonly found in NJ then I would appreciate your opinions

I also have a 22 foot Sea Pro WA for sale lol

I am going to be selling my 2007 sea pro 238 , which is 23'8"
since I have purchased a bigger boat.
This boat will do all and more of what you have listed.
The broker had it listed at 32K. but I will be selling it for 27K

I have a Sea Pro now but a walk around.
The two boats fish totally different. in both they way they drift as well as access to a more open fishable platform.
also being set back further towards the stern , the CC just is a way more comfortable ride.
I have run my 238 through some very nasty slop , more than just a few times, it runs more like a 28 than a 24.

Boat is rigged to fish , if you want send me an email I will send you some current pics

I did look a little into the Nautic Star. Will probably look more into them. My head is spinning with all of the information. Any one with experience with a Sea Fox? I read about a lot of issues prior to 2008 but I like the newer models

My last boat and best I ever had was the Maritime 20ft same as ub1234jp's great dry running boat.Like he said full glass and hard top makes all the difference plus real good on fuel. they make a 23' and the boats are made in Maine.

I just bought a new Sea Hunt Game Fish 25', my needs in a boat are very similar to yours I'm thinking this boat should be perfect for me... I looked at the Sea Fox, and although they looked nice I just couldn't get past there past bad reputation and not so good resale value. Good luck in your search.

For the price you can't beat a maycraft. Do a search on the THT. Great boats for a great price.
Maycrafts just like sea fox boats are a very light boat.
Take that boat out and get stuck in 4-6' tight seas, and you will be calling your dentist on the way in.

Ride in water is all about , weight and displacing water. otherwise your just getting tossed around.

.

best thing anyone looking to buy any boat, is to try and get out on the models you like on the not so pleasant days and see how the boat runs.

They all run great on blue bird days
