I am not sure but with wind chill it has to be in the teens or twenty's. When I started walking my line westerly this morning my face was burning, when I walked back easterly and the sun was shinning it felt like a warm summer day. Then I got the bright idea to search for some open water with my car arts over my hip boots. Well after that walking back to truck I couldn't bend my knees the carharts were so stiff
Working outside all day. It really isn't bad after the first hour. Eventually my fingers froze past the point of pain to just kind of numb. The ice on my charhart bibs is acting like a layer of insulation and I am pretty sure my left foot fell off around 8am. Water main breaks are awesome!
North hunterdon air temp was -8 when I left this morning and the wind was blowing like hell on top of it. Looks like slight relief over the weekend before temps drop again. It'll likely be March before I have my maple trees tapped, I don't think I've ever tapped that late.
