More insults, no facts or rebuttal....
More of the same...it's been that way for weeks now. I've been trying to get substance & all I get is insults, which I respond to in kind. The way I see it, those that constantly stoop to personal insults do so because their position is weak. Since facts, logic, etc. aren't there, they resort to pulling emotional strings which sometimes works well to sway the opinion of fools...

I've seen some facts on both sides. What I've seen from you is two things:
I want Sunday hunting because its not right that religion dictates when I hunt
And
Wahhhhhhh, everyone resorts to personal attacks.

Why not address the real reason many of us are against this. The herd needs to be rebuilt for the sake of the resource, not the sake of giving you more opportunity to reduce it even further. It's all in this thread. Address it and lets have a discussion about a common goal. Unless you don't care about the resource?

I've seen very few "facts" from people who oppose Sunday hunting. NONE which can't be overcome.

Sorry I speak facts because that was a dumb theory and you liked it.

That's why I said bag limits, if you limit how many deer, or whatever is harvested season length become meaningless since X number of whatever per season and you're done, with a two deer bag limit per season we will be swimming in deer in as little as 3-4 years, just like the early 90's.

Agree with you, but I think you should have to pick the tag's for the weapon you choose. There's another reason I'm not fond of the long gun seasons, and maybe some have the same experience as I do, maybe not. I hunt a very small tract of private property and once gun season opens and the first drive is done, a lot deer move out into unhuntable land by the houses and stay there. I know the state thinks these long gun seasons are great for controlling the population, but in this part of the state they're just shifting the population into another area. Again, this is only one very small area. I hunt on state land too once in a while and it's a different ball game.

Nope, I think we can all agree. The problem is, we won't see any. Maybe if those pushing the sunday agenda also push for bag limits along with sunday hunting, there'd be more support for it. It really is that simple. Is there any solution to this? Why not try to fix things first?
To say you want to handle bag limits first is putting the cart before the horse. The law needs to be changed first before NJF&G can even consider allowing any Sunday hunting for anything. Passing the law does not mean they will allow any Sunday hunting at all, it just means it will be legal for them to do so. If you have any understanding of the legislative process, or even if you don't, common sense will tell you that it takes a lot of time & effort to get to the point this bill has gotten to & to suggest it not pass in order to first change bag limits, regs, seasons, exclude waterfowl, etc. is just plain crazy talk. None of those things are even decided by the legislature & they vary from year to year based on decisions by the F&G council!!! Why do people think that they will open up Sunday for everything without any of the usual factors in the decision process or without any input from user groups, biologists, etc? Seasons, bag limits & regs are far more flexible than the law prohibiting Sunday hunting & they likely will make changes before opening up Sunday for certain species. Sunday hunting legal or not, they are not going to intentionally build the deer herd back up to the peak levels we saw back in the old days. You do understand that the legislature does not decide on season length, bag limits, regs, etc, & that asking for those to be included in the bill is a waste of time & barking up the wrong tree, don't you??/

not true... first and foremost they will have to allow sunday hunting for waterfowl or we will lose both our zones and season splits as we know them which will SIGNIFICANTLY shorten our waterfowl seasons (from nearly 4 months as they are now to less than 2 months from start to finish) and second the chairman of the game council has openly admitted that the council has already decided to support and vote in favor of sunday hunting if it is passed. the argument of "let the council and F&G deal with it is null and void, they already stated what is going to happen

You do realize that a lot of residents don't have any faith in our F&G for many reasons, right? To trust them to do the right thing is laughable at best. I have no idea why you mentioned peak herd levels we saw years ago. Take a walk to turkey swamp or assunpink. Go count some tracks in the snow and see what we're dealing with down here. Go try and find a deer right now. I don't think anyone is looking to have peak levels, but maybe just looking to have some reason to visit these places once again, and maybe see a deer to get our kids excited and back into the sport. There's very little exaggeration when I tell you that it's tough even seeing a deer in those woods. So your response is to just allow sunday hunting and hope the state does the right thing and reduces bag limits? Well, I can tell you that you'll be really pissed when they start moving those unlimited zones with long liberal seasons into reg set 0, because as far as the state is concerned, that's the right thing and has been written into their code.

the most amusing and frustrating thing about your "facts" argument...its that you ask to provide factual data on something that hasn't even happened' think about how stupid the foundation to your argument is,REALLY, THINK ...........But what we are and have given you is copious amounts of statistical based DATA... DROVES OF IT...Deer harvest data decline, waterfowl population decline, wintering brant decline, hunter density, shortened waterfowl seasons and on and on.... I think the real hardship for you guys is that not only will sunday gun hunting not happen now its NEVER going to happen and it will be so soundly defeated that the issue will never come to the floor again...

So now you're gonna play victim & pretend you didn't first make some wise ass crack about me & I just called you that for no reason?? Go back & read all my posts & see if you can find one where I just started slamming someone who hadn't started that crap with me first. Like I said earlier, take a potshot at me, I'm unloading on you with both barrels
