Two days left in the duck season. Tomorrow is the final curtain call for this year. Forecast for tomorrow looks like it could be a hell of a final day.

The longer I do this the more I appreciate all aspects of duck hunting. The early season sweating my but off in a tshirt, the excitement when a new guy gets his first bird, the little gems of advice and reflection from the older guys, the moment when something new leads to success, the laughs and ball busting between friends both new and old and those days when everything just fall into place perfectly that more than make up for the days you probably should have just stayed home.

I would like to wish everyone good luck wrapping the last two days of duck season.

Thanks. I'm glad that I was able to get out this season a few times with my sons. We are planning on building a few blinds on my parent's property for next season. Should be fun.

[cry] I am going to miss all the penntards. That means I am going to have to wait 9 months to see you guys again. [rofl] lol just kidding I couldn't help myself

It's sad - I'm depressed already

Me and a buddy were just discussing this last night..... I say this every year, Its amazing how fast it all goes.. seems like yesterday I was knee deep in September geese with prospects of a new season burning bright ....Then BOOM its Halloween... then thanksgiving... then Christmas...a new year......January is sad but sweet, some of the best gunning can be had but as every day slips bye its like the grains in the hour glass are draining fast...Something about this "endeavor" to those of us enthralled by it, and I don't even call it a sport....waterfowling is not a sport to "US" the guys that live and breathe it...Best I can come up with......Its a VIRUS and it just festers and you NEED to feed it and the more you fuel it the more it needs, year round...Some of us feed the virus with dog games, carving and different waterfowl related projects through out the year....Sometimes the virus brings out the best in folks other times the worst...By nature waterfowling breeds competition, with so much invested its hard for it not to.....The virus makes folks to funny things almost like the RUT for you deer hunters...I've seen generally good people screw their friends over when the birds are "in" ..........anyway, the last few grains await....

All my attention us turned to load development, patterning, production and shooting. I feel like crying right now :(

I think next year I'm gonna start a photo/log book of each hunt, just so remembering each hunt separately comes easy. Its easy for all them hunts to melt into a few memories if you forget to recollect on each adventure separately... id give up every piece of gear I own and start from scratch to have every duck hunt on video

Put in my last two days of hunting here..tomorrow is last day but I'm ending my season on a good note. Been hunting hard the past couple weeks with not much to show. Birds just always seemed to stay a step or hole ahead of me. More guys chasing than birds so I'm hanging it up. Been a good run.

Gonna try my hand at taxidermy in the off season, gotta few mallards & woodies in the freezer to mess with.
