While bow hunting recently, a mountain biker ruined my hunt. Now, I've grown to accept this happens, especially in Ringwood State Park. But this prick gave me his two sense about how I murder deer for fun, etc., and his other agenda...

My thoughts are: we pay to be in the woods - a lot - and mountain bikers don't, but they are destroyers of much a deer's environment, carving trails on deer runs, etc.

Isn't it about time we ask legislators to make them pay for licensure to be in the woods? They should pay $60 season sly to ruin the environment that we pay for. It could offset our expenses of they have to pay too!

Thoughts?

Mountain bikers are just as bad as the road bike assholes. They ride out in the middle of the road then get mad if you honk at them because they wont move over. In the summer I had a road biker in front of me at a red light in the center of the lane. I asked him to please move over so I could pull up, he not only gives my the finger but moons me as well. As I passed him I threw my large milkshake all over him. I swear if there was another coat of paint on that bike it would have been man down.

Yes they should have to pay and I personally think there should be designated areas only to prevent conflict.

Next time you dress out a deer, do it on the guy's trail.... He'll need to hose down the bike when he gets home

Ok, I hunt, mountain bike, hike, birdwatch and fish. So now I need 5 licenses to enjoy a day off? You're all being conditioned to believe we have to pay the government to enjoy nature. Are we not FREE people? No, I guess not. Carry on.
agreed. perhaps that guy was a douche for giving the OP his opinions on hunting, etc, but he has every right to ride the trails, hike the trails, etc.

They guy was a douche it sounds like but enough with licenses already. Just what we need, more government. Net comes tax payer funded mountain bike inspections, registration and insurance. "We pay, why shouldn't they?" Maybe we should think outside the box and start asking why EVERYTHING is regulated and taxed. Are we slaves? Listen to yourselves helping to erode our freedoms by adding taxes and restrictions on our rights to travel freely as afforded to by our bill of rights. Stop with the knee jerk reactions and start thinking like free people not government chattel.

In Pa all game lands are purchased through hunters dollars and hunting license sales.
There is an amendment before our PGC board of commissioners today that will basically charge anyone who is not a hunting a fee to use our gamelands.

Our Pa game commission is a separate entity and funded entirely by hunters. I'm all for others having to pay to use our gamelands

He sounded froggie , did he want to leap?

I seriously cannot believe that anyone actually thinks mountain bikers should have to pay to ride their bikes on public land. That is the most liberal, pro-big government thing I've heard on this website. What's next? People need to get a permit to walk in the woods? A license to walk their dog? A license to skateboard on the street? This is a friggen FREE country remember?! The guy was being a douche for sure but that's just life. I really hope people are just trolling with this stuff right now, jeez
