Zone 9. I don't watch sports on tv, golf, gamble or have any other vices. It's just those Damn whitetails that are more addicting then drugs! Then comes turkey, trout, turtle trapping, president season scouting and then hunt deer for 7 months and repeat haha.
Yeah bro, I suffer from the same disease. I have zero problem with that. The only thing that gets in my way is work sometimes.

I heard from a source that the changes will not take affect until 2016.
Changes take place every two years. That's a normal thing. That's how often the game counsel is presented with potential changes.

Hey tree shadow. Take to many sensitive pills today???? I'm a die hard bow hunter. I rifle hunt ny CT and pa when the seasons Come around. Will pick up the slug gun during buck week other then that I'm. A bow hunter. My point is shooting a deer with a bow and a bear with the bow have very different end results. A wounded deer won't maul someone who gets in its way. I'm simply saying there should be a course for people who want to use a bow for bear in the unlikely event the season is approved. Especially those who have never done it before. It's a safety precaution as well as making sure people are killing quickly and humanely and not wounding them. As you could see your defensiveness was not only unwarranted but came off as a bit ignorant.

Bears are on a 5 year management plan. The five years are over and a new plan will take effect Next Year.
Rumor I heard from some reliable sources are a proposed gun and bow season combined for a week, prior to 6 day. How much earlier, I do not know.
So YES,An archery Bear season could indeed be in the very near future.

It is all false. The Game Code needs to be amended and that can't be done without a 60 day public comment period. Tell your butchers plumbers sisters boyfriends uncle he is wrong. I am hoping for a couple of weeks earlier but if not that is fine.
Which happens every two years.

I heard it from the butcher. Not a boyfriends plumbers uncle or whatever. It was why I asked because I thought that was pretty quick for them to announce something like that.

Winner winner, chicken dinner!

I will put the rumors to rest. This came from a secret taped conversation between Dave Chanda and an alien from Mars. There will be a spring bow season for non residents only the fee will be 850.99. New Jersey Residents will get an earlier season. Only Air Rifles and Slingshots will be legal and the season will coincide with squirrel season. This early season will only be available to those with a minimum of 50 whining posts on NJH blaming every one but themselves on why they don't harvest animals. During the special air rifle season treestands will be allowed 50 yards from a bait site. The season will be postponed if the temperature dips below 50 degrees or rains for two days straight. If it snows in October the season will be canceled till June of next year because they will instantly hibernate. Hope this clears it all up. This is all fact according to the Martian that spoke with Mr. Chanda. Also zone 6 will have an 8 point on one side antler restriction.

out of state residents paying two bucks for a bear tag is crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Actually, anyone, residents or nonresidents paying $2.00 for a bear tag is insane. The state cries about revenue but they really could bring in a lot more cash if they had the brains to do so. Not just with bears, but by revamping all the licensing and tags, residents and nonresidents.

Isnt bad unethical shots with the bows the same thing they said when crossbows were being introduced. The division thought that was nonsense.
A bow and.crossbow are just as good at killing a bear at 30 yrds as a slug gun at 100 to 150...i wonder how many wounded bear are walking around right now and or rotting in a rock pile or swamp.
