My dad and I got into the woods at 12 and hiked up a ridge. I found a nice deer run so we set up 50 yards from it. At 12:45 my dad shoots at a spike and I see a deer running to me. I get my gun up and shoot the deer at 5 yards and it drops. It ends up my dad hit it but it didn't go down. When we were gutting it, we saw that my dad shattered a piece of the spine. It was a tough haul out of the woods. We were both using 12 gauge slugs but my 3" Accutips did a number on him. It's amazing how tough these animals are. So now we finally have venison in the freezer after a long deerless bow season.
