I was still drinking mommies milk back then, b4 my time bro. I got my hunting license at 10 in 1987. Didn't know that you used to be able to hunt bow for 6day 40 years ago. You must be old... [emoji1] [emoji106]

I remember the early morning that place blew up for the last time in the 90's. Rattled the Windows in my parents house in Hopatcong. Up until a few years ago I used to drive that spot but not the Hercules side, the Davey Dogs side. Think its part of Berkshire Valley WMA or we were trespassing? There's a dirt road there I used to drive my jeep right into to drop off the shooters from rt. 80, Roxbury's finest have exclusive access to the old Hercules property now. Its their own private gun club full of monsters.

I'll be out the only two days this week with my bow. Should take the gun, but just can't bring myself to do it. Wish it wasn't such a gun spot is all ha ha.

Ill probably take a seat for a few hours this week with the bow to get some fresh air. Can I kill a doe with the bow during 6 day? I haven't read the compendium in a while cause I really don't hunt here any longer, but haven't had any venison in the freezer so I just might take a doe.

I am fairly certain if you have a permit bow tag and your zone allow antlerless with said tag - you can take as many doe this week as tag allows any other time. The only difference is you gain two buck tags but just for this week...

I have a question - could one buy the antlerless shotgun permit, and if not having used any of the 6-day buck tags for shotgun, could one continue to hunt with that antlerless shotgun permit with bow, and shoot a buck if their permit bow buck tag was already filled? In other words, for the price of a $28 antlerless shotgun permit, and not having used 6-day firearm buck tags, you can gain another bow "buck" tag?

I think so...

Stupid system - I still say , ad nauseum, " 2 portable buck tags per hunter per calendar year".
