Got in the blind at one, grabbed my sd card on the way in and was kind of bummed by the pics, but I kept telling myself "it's that time of year, anything can happen." Around four o clock had three does come from behind me on my left. They hit the bait for about twenty minutes and then browsed off to my right into the thicket. Shortly after I caught movement directly in front of me about eighty yards but it disappeared before I could get the binos out. A few minutes later the three doe came back to the bait with a new doe in tow. The. This guy popped out in the same spot thirty seconds later. He walked over to the bait but was head down facing me so I waited. Luck would have it, one the does spooked and he trotted to the right but was broadside and still in range. I knew it was between 25 and 30 but couldn't range him good because there was a doe between me and him. All the deer relaxed after a minute and started coming back in. I drew as he was headed into the opening but again he was quarterin towards and alert so I let down to wait for the perfect shot. Eventually he turned broadside and started walking left so I drew again ( after I made sure the arrow was still knocked after letting down) , I grunted to stop him but he didn't hear me. I had one more shooting lane before he was gone, I grunted again and he stopped, took my time aiming and let her rip. I shot both eyes open and was able to watch the arrow in flight and it looked good. As he wheeled to his right I could see the blood pumping out. I heard him crash but was too rattled to track properly, found the arrow and very good blood at Impact so I walked back to my truck to lose some gear and call for back up. My buddy showed up about ten minutes later and we made short work of tracking him. He ran about 80 yards and piled up in the creek. During tracking we found where ran smack dead into a large cherry tree, I'm gonna have to go back and look because I don't recall his right G3 being busted off when I shot at him. This is the same deer I gave a haircut to two weeks ago. I'm super pumped to get it done after a few mishaps. Nothing like bow hunting baby, can't beat the high!
