I hear you. Last Saturday had 2 lone mature does come by at separate times. Not much happening

Same here in zones 6 and 8. Last buck I saw chasing was Wednesday of this week, but the one before that was last weekend in NY state. All the bucks have left my woodlot that I see out my office window for now until the 2nd rut kicks in. I would say I saw a strong rut this year locally where I hunt.

I think the rut was early again .
I hunted PA , Ohio , and NJ HARD for the last three weeks.
I only saw 1 good buck chasing, a few dinks cruising WAY different than normal years.
The last three nights out I have had between 12-14 does under me all night without a buck in sight.
ALL 5 bucks shot in Ohio last week , and this week by our gang were all shot eating in food plots without a doe in sight.
the best of those had 4 other bucks eating with it
