pretty sure it's not same bear. I think mine is 450 - 500 and yours is 550-600
Agreed, the one on Jon's stand is definitely missing part of the left ear...Never thought that would've been from fighting. I figured he'd been tagged and the tag got caught on something and ripped that part of the ear off......live and learn. Either way, I've seen this bear going on 6 years now.....

That mineral block gives it scale they are about 10 inches to a foot wide so my guess is he is about 5 feet from ground to the top of his back side maybe 7 feet from nose to tail I am going to guess between 6 and 7 hundred. Let us know what the man at the check station tells you you may want to hunt another piece and just bait that spot for 6 day.

No bear hunting at this spot, besides, come 6 day he's denned up anyway. Nope this bear will either die of old age, or he'll get a little to pushy with one of the neighboring houses and the police or F&G will put him down. There are good deer in that lot, otherwise I'd move on and let him have it to himself

Never seen a tag tear the whole ear off. It would be split maybe. Sometimes an old male has both ears bit off n white scars all over his face. That one you don't wanna mess with

Unfortunately, I got this guy hanging around one of my sons primary stands. Clearly he's living within the 60 acre wood lot and raiding the neighboring houses for garbage since the wood lot is littered with old garbage bags.... How heavy do you think he is? I', saying 550+
Excuse my ignorance, I'm not well-versed in bear ID: How do we know this is not a female bear who is, for example, 6 months along carrying cubs?

Thanks for your answers. I'd really like to know more.

Hmmmm bears have delayed fertilization. They breed in May/June. The eggs kinda sit there til the sow goes into her winter den. They typically have different shaped heads though sometimes that could fool you. If she had young cubs her, um we'll excuse me nips would be hanging and commonly visible just like a dog. Males excuse me again usually have long hair on the pizzle stick and if I'm seeing the pic clearly it looks like that could be the case. Also as I stated earlier the males often have missing ears from fighting.
