Unfortunately, I got this guy hanging around one of my sons primary stands. Clearly he's living within the 60 acre wood lot and raiding the neighboring houses for garbage since the wood lot is littered with old garbage bags.... How heavy do you think he is? I', saying 550+

I think you ought to increase his weight by about 300 grains.

Bears typically look much much bigger than they are. This one is def heavy for it's size. The belly is almost dragging a sign of an easy food source. Seen very often in cornfield bears by me. Looks like a make only because it seems from pic his right ear has been bitten off in a fight. His ears though look big and giant males typically get a big crease in the center of the head from muscle on the skull. The hair looks parted. Also keep in mind when alive a bears hair sticks out substantially. Ask a new bear hunter about ground shrinkage. Basically it's the hair lying flat after it died.
Imagine how big a 550 pound man is, cover him on all sides w long dense fur and you get an idea how big 550 is. Not at all saying you are wrong, it's hard to tell without anything in the background but I'd guess some less

He's gonna be heavy enough to shoot come December and too heavy for one or even 2 people to drag . . .

I say all of 600 or darn close. I am surprised I do not have a picture of that one I have a regular 450 lb male. View attachment 23918 .
Is that pic the same bear? His head looks bigger. Guys it's hard to tell. I skinned for two dif bear camps, shot a bunch n mounted my fair share years ago. Lots were weighed n it's hard to tell. If we typically shave some weight from most bears were typically most accurate. Like I said you guys may be right but who knows.

My bear is most likely within 1/2 a mile of his- but I have not seen one with a chewed off ear. Of course my bear may have eaten that ear. He is less fat and probably more agile :)

Jack do you have a head shot on him? to see if the ear is clipped? My trailcam pic is definitely within a 1/2 mile of yours
