I am looking to purchase a Tundra soon. I was wondering what everyone paid? I am probably going to get the double cab, but interested in how much the crew max is also. TRD package more than likely also. Also which dealerships you recommend. I'm trying to get as much info as possible to bring to the dealership to negotiate the best deal possible. Thanks in advance

My Tundra is a 2010 I paid 34,-35 somewhere in that area my MPG are 14 in town I will get over 20mpg if I keep it under 75mph on the highway. I love the truck.. I bought it at Condit Toyota world in Newton

Toyoto don't deal much and IMO they are way over priced to start with. here is a link to a good review by US News which is unbiased not like the ones you get direct from the buig 5 truck makers. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Toyota_Tundra/

My dad's Tundra (2012) with the crew max cab and TRD package gets terrible gas mileage. I think he averages 12 mpg highway according to the on board computer. IMO however you don't buy a truck that big and expect good gas mileage....or at least I wouldnt.

I'm still running my '05 with no mechanical issues. Rust is a whole different story. One reason for so many tundras on the lot was the introduction of the larger V-8( 5.2) Unless you have a need for additional ponys under the hood, leave 'em on the lot. Gas prices only go in one direction^^^^^

I have the 2010 Tundra Crew Max, lots of power and room, my MPG is just under 15.....No problems!!!! I did put on a A.R.E. Z- Series Cap. I got mine at the Toyota Dealer in Flemington on Rt. 31, I think I paid roughly $35,000, with the side step rails & TRD.....Friend of mine got a 2012 Crew Max Rock Warrior with TRD he paid around $38,000. I agree the gas mileage sucks, but with a 5.7L V8 it's to be expected to drink gas. If I was in the market for a new truck I would go back to the Toyota Tacoma Double Cab with TRD.....Good Luck!!!

Also I have always in the past dealt with Prestige Toyota in Mahwah when I lived in Bergen County, always got treated well, and I agree Toyota dealers don't haggle as much as other car maker's dealers

Although I would strongly encourage you to look at a silverado, if you want the best deal just go to true car like Ducati said. It will give you 3 closest dealers and what they will sell it for. Amex, usaa, etc all use true car pricing model so if you are a member of any of those they will give you same info. I run a chevy store and if I was looking at something else that what's I would do. Feel free to pm me if you need any help.

What is the fuel economy difference between the 4.6 and the 5.7?Also what would the MPG of the tacoma. I want the tundra for the size of the bed and overall size.

Johnbrod77 I looked at the chevys and they 5 to 6 grand more for the base models and only go up from there. I went around to different dealers yesterday and the chevy dealer even said it has been tougher to sell the trucks lately knowing they are the highest priced out of the gate. I was between the chevy and the tundra but price points turned me away.

If you get the Tundra Crew Max the bed is just 5.5', the double cab is 6'.........The MPG of my Tundra 5.7L V8 vs my friends Tacoma 4.0L V6 is 3 or 4 miles diffance. The look of the new GMC/Chevy is great, friend of mine got one, but the Tundra is roomier. I would think with all the recalls going on, great deals would be able to happen to the GMC/Chevy. I owned all but Dodge, Chevy was the worst granted that was many moons ago, owed Ford nice truck, Nissan great truck, but just wasn't for me, owned 3 Tacomas and loved them all, and now for the last 4 yrs my Tundra

My father-in-law owned a Tundra which he loved until the frame rusted out from underneath it, according to him toyota cut him a check towards a new truck. I owned a Titan which was terrible on gas and now have an f150 with ecoboost which is very good on gas as long as you stay out of the boost.

Truecar.com seems to be a fairly good resource for price comparisons. I used them for my last vehicle purchase, and it really made the whole buying experience much easier.
I did use the truecar numbers to check with some non-participating dealerships, and they basically balked at the price, trying to convince me that it was just not possible to come even close to.
Well, i finally did make it to a TC dealer, and they honored the advertised price without condition.

I have a 2011 TRD double cab. Gas mileage sucks but for a truck it's size and with its power that's the norm. I have a bakflip hard locking tonneau cover for it so I can load the bed up with gear and lock the tail gate. I think I will eventually down size to a Tacoma just for a little better gas mileage but otherwise the truck has been flawless.
