can you use a rifle scope on slug gun

I have rifle scope that came on my savage axis. And want to use it on my slug gun.will it work fine.is the shock of a 12.guage do anything to crosshairs.

Of curse you can, but it should be good quality for the recoil ,low power you don't need to reach out there, and a wide field of view to quickly get on target.

Just remember the eye relief is shorter on a rifle scope than a shot gun scope. Wouldn't wanna see pics of the oops from creeping up on it.

Only thing that is actually different is the parallax. Shotgun scopes parallax are set at 75 yds and a rifle scope is set at 150 yds. But yes, the rifle scope will work!

All of my shotguns have "RIFLE SCOPES" on them for nearly 20 yrs, there is no need for a "SHOTGUN ONLY" scope unless that is what you want. But the way shotguns shoot slugs these days, the "RIFLE SCOPE" is perfect.

Rifle scope will work fine on a shotgun.Don't ever put a rifle scope on a air-rifle.

Yes, you can. Just make sure it has adequate eye relief and is of decent quality to withstand the slugster's recoil, especially if it's a 12 ga.
