For those of you that know me and fished with me through out the years know I am very picky about my gear ,I have been known to step off my boat and throw gear in dumpsters or just give it away , a couple years ago I geared my boat with canyon reels , I met with the owner and spent some time talking over my needs and wants in a reel and we decided what was best for the conditions I fish ,after some hard testing of them they proved to me to be top notch reels and I ordered 8 the very next day .while offshore the 30's I had bought made quick work on sharks often and not a single time was the even a doubt in my mind that I would have any tackle troubles .inshore we went with the 15's and have done many bass just shy of the fifty mark on them and thousands of fluke trouble free ,to me I rely on my tackle ,if and when I have any trouble it throws my mind set off and I'm just wasting time .the other day I was in the tackle box and seen the new 3500 spinners and just had to have one to test out before I added them to my boats arsenal of gear, this week I set out to see what canyon has created and see if it was worthy of fishing on the misfit ,what I have found early on is this reel is no joke I put 15 lb test pp on it and a small amount of backing ,the drag is way more then you will ever need but great to know it's there if need be. I opted to do three tests on it to get a quick idea of what I was using day one ,I set out on land and used clams , I paired it with a 7' med action loo is rod and it was perfect balance ,from the first to last cast of the day it was smooth and over powered for my needs I had zero problems controlling the fish the drag was insane on the bulldog runs the bass make ,I knew at this point I was going to order a dozen but still went on to see what the reel was made of ,day two structure and rattle traps on bridges and river banks again flawless on the same rod ,I found I had extreme control of casting and a perfect fit in my hands and throwing a couple hundred casts I had very little hand fatigue which is always a huge concern for me fishing multiple days a week ,day three was to be a true test ,I switched it to a 8' loo is that I use to jig weakies in rivers and set out for long casting channel edges with light jigs for bass, this is where I made my final decision to buy a dozen of these ,extreme complete control of every cast and being so small allowed me to throw smaller jigs and larger and bounce the bottoms .i am flat out sold on these reels and highly recommend taking a look at them they are made in nj and are top notch and will be the only reels I supply this season .i can not say enough about them
