Liquor stores ,no matter how old you are now are requiring that they scan your driver's license through an electronic reader. It captures the information contained in the magnetic strip on the back of your license.I could not believe it,what are they doing with the information. And this is legal? [wallmad]

No April Fools, go on-line type in the question,it's there. It ain't just booze. It says stores are now scanning every purchase.Buy-Rite said to my friend if you don't drive you must see a manager.

Its just like buying allergy medicine. My wife has allergies, but not bad enough for a prescription. She uses Clariton D. Every time we go to Walgreens they scan my license. If I go back to soon they tell me I cannot buy any more. So we have to take shifts when we buy it. Just another thing the government is keeping tabs on you for.

Last week I was on line at WaWa, a girl got a pack of cigarettes the cashier wanted to see her DL verify the age I would think, but they scan the strip on the back of DL....I think it has to more with a questionable age, I went to liquor store the other day they didn't scan or ask for my DL, also got cigarettes for my neighbor and they didn't scan
Getting even better. Read Obama Care. Doctors are asked to question patients if they own a firearm. It's not mandatory but they are asking them to.
they are just looking to help their BS cause against the lawful gun owner.
"Some Doctors," will not comply.

I guess I'm screwed since my family Dr. is a member of my gun club... Actually, the last time I had a checkup we ended up talking a lot about different firearms and shooting.

That technology came out after 9/11. It's used more at bars and clubs, where there is a larger prevalence of underage patrons with fake ids. Any NJ lottery machine has the capability to do the same thing. Considering the first offense for serving someone underage, as a licensed liquor store, is $1000 fine and up to 30 days business closure, I don't blame anyone for being careful.
