may i add, for anyone not skinning their fox or yote right away keep the aninals on their back, it helps prevent the bellies from spoiling which is what happens first, just remember the key to a great tan starts in the field, no tanner or taxidermist can undo miss treatment of animals before they get to his/her shop.

Very well put, this also means no Rambo knives to stab the animal with ,do not gut the animal,do not leave it in a bag of frozen blood ,treat it as if it were a deer you want to mount ,dry the fur wipe off blood if there is any wrap it and freeze it .let me worry about everything else, but most important is the more holes you put in it the more trouble I will have returning a finished product ...no gutting these animals please I'm not a seamstress ,lol. A bullet will finish the animal if you feel it is not down find another way to do the job a follow up 12 ga slug to the head is not needed ,and please don't club it like a baby seal ,I have never had to shoot a fox I trapped you can grab them and do it that way and save the hide

Took catfish hunter up on his offer today and dropped off my red from this past season. Awesome guy and treats you like you have been friends for years. His little shop of horrors is awesome he has some very cool stuff. He took the time out to show me multiple items in various stages of cleaning and assembly. He trully has a passion for what he does and it shows in the finished product. What most impressed me was his willingness to teach others his trade. Very few people are willing to do that and I trully appreciate it. And although I am not a skull guy after seeing one of his coyote skulls all done up in Chrome I may have to get one done for the man cave next year. Thanks again Charlie.

Anytime bro, thanks for the kind words.see you in a couple days ,thanks again, offer still stands on doing the skull for you,as for passion this was a hobby that turned into what you saw, when there is a so called love for something you do you don't call it work ,I enjoy every minute of it . Thanks again

Awesome - is that link you have in your signature where you are? southsideskulls.com - outside Edison in Central Jersey? I'm in South Jersey, but I would love to (if I am so blessed to get me a fox or yote) to get hands on and learn that. You are about an hour and a half away from me.

So, the question I have is - suppose I get a fox or yote - what is the best way to store and transport it so it doesn't spoil before it gets to you and gets skinned? Or would that be too far away? I always wonder how fast I could get it to a processor if I make the kill in middle of the night or in the early morning hours on a Saturday when folks aren't open yet.
Im pretty much in the same boat as you. Went up thursday maybe took me 1.5 hrs. Right off the highway. Really easy to get to! Great guy! Willing to help out with anything you ask!

I'm a people person ,lol. Work with dead critters all day you learn to enjoy live company every know and again.i used to talking to my dogs and skulls ,they just started talking back ,lol.
Thanks guys just want everyone to be happy with what they get back ,I was scammed by a taxidermist on a golden trout years ago (rgswildlife scammer) and decided to do the best I can and cut out the middle man scam ,I can't do it all but what I can do I do the best I can with what's brought in .i didn't like being scammed by a member of this site who at the time told all of us he did his own work then when things came back a nightmare he said he sent it out ,that day was the beginning of south side skulls ,I make an effort to take time and do the the best I can for everyone that stops by .if I can't do it I have some very talented taxidermist that can in my call list and will pick your animal up here or I deliver to them and we all work together to ensure you are happy and return every time you need something done
