Just a bead, either my oldest 870 12ga. with a pre choke tube 30" full, or a BPS 10ga

just bead , sorry but have to laugh when i see a scope on a turkey gun
Don't knock it until you've tried it.....[ninja]

I have a Benelli Supernova with both a field barrel and rifled slug barrel. After taking the 2x7 scope on and off when I switched barrels, and having to resight it in again every time the slug barrel was put back on, I said F' it and left the scope on.

You can see a lot better and choose a turkey with the better beard with a scope (left on 2x) when multiple toms are coming into range. Nothing wrong with using a scope...IMO.

Same with me on having a multipurpose gun. I just added a Truglo magnetic fiber optic dot which i see better.

RGW, I agree. I caught myself doing that when I was patterning. That makes a huge difference.

Red dot with no magnification. Can see entire bird as you take aim, whereas with the bead you can't see anything below it. As long as you have it sighted in properly you can't beat it. Only possible negative is if your battery dies or it malfunctions for some reason. Mine takes a little lithium battery that is about the size of a nickel, easily lasts the entire season but I replace every year no matter what. Always do a functions test before leaving truck and carry a spare.

with today's high speed chokes and turkey ammo. Its almost a necessity to have an adjustable sight on your turkey gun. Weather it be a low magnification scope, holo graphic sight, red dot sight, or iron sights. Todays turkey guns throw such a tight pattern anymore you really need to be able to adjust the densest part or the pattern to mach your point of aim. Same as sighting in a single projectile like a slug.
