I had one w 26" barrels a while back and it was rock solid well made and felt great in your hands but for me personal I shoot much better w a sxs verse the over under and as much as I tried to shoot well with it I had to let it go. If you shoot well with over under configurations then it's a great gun.

I had an original SC model some years ago. I used it to shoot skeet, 5-stand and doubles-trap. It was built like a tank but a bit crude compared to a Browning or a Beretta. I thought I was going to like it, it felt good coming to my shoulder in the gunshop and I wanted to like it when I was using it, but it just never quite fit me right. I got some enjoyment out of it but not enough to love it. The height of the comb and butt pitch caused the comb to whack my cheek. I thought it was heavy and ponderous to carry, for I took it pheasant hunting only once and it was a bear to carry all day, and lifeless in the hands coming up for winged game, so it was useless to me as an upland gun. I also encountered the same problem some users with older Red Labels have experienced. The safety would engage with heavy loads (anything greater than 1 1/4 oz.) after the first shot. The fix here is the safety detent springs need to be replaced, and the detents (there are two) deepened to offer a better catch to keep the safety block from moving and then this problem goes away. I sold mine. Any gun I've sold I usually regret later on. Not the Ruger.

Your experience and opinion may be different from mine. Everyone is shaped differently, and guns fit the person properly only if the stock dimensions are correct for them.

I wouldn't even pay half what he was asking. Straight stock, front heavy and actually only had 28in barrels. Fit and finish were not that great. I guess I will save a few more pennies and stop at Etchens.
