I have a 500 TC Encore... I load em HOT right to the max with H110 and 350gr Berry RS bullets. The gun has a huge JP howitzer muzzle brake on it... makes the gun feel like a bomb is going off when you pull the trigger. Lots of fun!

Lets see... broke a "Shockproof" Mueller Quickshot red dot first time out. Broke the glass in like 15 rounds HAHA. That got replaced under warranty and now lives on my sawed off 12ga. Replaced that optic with a Leupold M8 4x EER handgun scope. Had three rings on it. That lasted bout 300 rounds and finally the glass broke on the Leupold. I had that repaired under warranty. Put the repaired M8 back on and maybe 200 rounds later the 4 screw scope base failed. The screws sheared right off the barrel and sent the base, rings, and scope 30 feet behind me down at Ft dix. Scope survived. Sent the barrel to SSK and had them drill out the screws, retap it with 6 holes and installed one of their TSOB bases (tough SOB). They installed three new heavy duty rings. Held up since... probably 500rds since them. I replaced the stock grip with a Houge decelerator. Def more comfortable. Blew the little emblem off one side of the grip though. I got a walnut encore fore, sanded it down, primer, painted yellow, dipped it in water with orange and black model glue on top, painted the entire thing black, them sanded back through the paint to make it look like the grip was on fire. Oh ya when I first loaded em up, I was putting a crimp on the bullet. Turns out that was breaking the plating on the bullet causing it to shear off when firing. Well I had this huge muzzle break on the gun which sent copper flying out the sides of the gun. If you were inside it would richocet off the lane wall and sometimes embed in your skin! I caught a real nice one in the arm once... burned when I got hit and bled a little. Since then I always wear a long sleeve shirt when shooting it. I broke a light bulb with it at Shoreshot... IDK if it was the blast or some copper frag hitting it. Since I stopped putting a crimp on the bullet the copper slinging problem has gone away. Eye protection still is obviously absolutely mandatory and I wear plugs and muffs... and its still loud. It still absolutely has the potential to injure you. It recoils so hard if you hold your hands the wrong way it will bite! Especially your weak hand hitting the barrel open tang. I think I may have broke my dang finger on that one. Def had it hurt for a few days. I has the potential to make your strong hand bleed too from rubbing on a frame screw hole. Anyways its hoot to shoot... my sister is a pro!

you just gotta watch yer face

JD, if that is your wife she looks very fit. No offense intended she has well defined arms no slouch there. I had a 454 casual and decided it was just rediculous to shoot anymore. I now shoot 44 mags if that is not enough let them walk lol. The ground truely vibrates when unleashing a .454 casual. I had the Tarus raging bull with built in muzzle brake. would i shoot it yes , 5 shots rapid fire NOPE!!!! I am old! lol
