Here's another heads up.....even for TineTime that finds my posts annoying....[ninja]

Stay away from the Older M-80 and get an M-80 -XT or -XD or -blx (black)

I have a theory that the original M-80 may be date sensitive and pre-programmed to cause problems when the date changed to 2013. I had two that worked perfectly in 2012 and acted up in 2013. I spoke to Moultrie at length about it, and they wouldn't admit it....but I did talk them into selling me a bunch of M80-blx's for a very cheap price when I complained very loudly....[lol]

Deermaster the m-80 blx?
Love the M80-blx. Great camera. Lots better than the new 990. M80-blx I highly recommend.

M 80 black is my favorite. I run 6 of them all season. Batteries last a while and never have card issues and pics are great. Recommend using energizer ultimate lithium batteries will save you money in the end.

I bought two of the new Moultrie 990i's and they are fine but not any better than the m 80 blacks. And the 990 is 10 mp which drains batteries faster but barely makes the pics any better. However I have not tried either of the video functions on either camera.

Agreed. I have a 990 and hate it. Burns batteries like you say, there is no need for a small viewing screen that also burns power and the transition times at sunrise and sunset are much longer than the -blx causing more over or under exposed pictures which is annoying when you try to view them on a computer.....[confusedagain]
