After a failed attempt to hang a stand(I fell twice from about 5-6 ft, & bent the climbing sticks). I loaded my game cart, & headed back to my car, when I ran into Dave(a Great Guy I had just met).
He offered to let me use 1 of his stands, & I gratefully took him up on it. After packing my car, I headed back to the woods, & climbed the borrowed stand(Bruised Ego in tow). She walks in alone 15-20 mins later, & I let 1 off. I know she's on the smaller side, but I'm just happy to have venison in the freezer.

Who cares how big or small, great job. Congrats!!! I dunno how you tried to hang the sticks but a linemans belt and good old fashioned practice will help. If your in south jersey PM me and I can help you get one hung next time or show you how I do mine. Good luck the rest of the season and "Dave" must be a nice guy.

Jason1…my daughter might need your help next year. Never hunted from a tree stand but we have one and my daughter will be 16 and wanting to hunt from one next year. Been looking for someone in South Jersey to show us how its done :)

Just send me a PM when your ready. You pick the spot and I can show you how to hang it. So far this year I've picked terrible spots for myself...lol but my stands are up and secure

I tried to cheat and connected all 5 of the climbing sticks together. After I had the 1st 2 secured, I realized that the 3rd 1 was backwards [wallmad]. I put it up and took it back down atleast 4 tines. Oh and the tree was to wide for my linesman belt. I had to use the regular harness, & each time I fell I bent the sticks as I took a ride. Smh & Lol
Btw Thankz for the offer to help!!! And yes Dave was Great!!!

It wasn't my 1st time hanging a stand, but I did watch a video on tricks to do it faster. I'm a Union Carpenter, & I build scaffolds up to 100 + ft at work. I'll admit that cutting corners doesn't always pay off, but that has nothinng to do with hunting. Why are you even on this forum NJ Hunter if you don't hunt NJ??? #TrollsAreWorthlessLosers

Remind me to never set hand or foot on any of your scaffolds.
