Bad weather for Monday in bear country doesn't bode well for big numbers harvested this year. That and poor permit sales and the late season will make this our lowest year since they re-established a bear hunt. But we have tons of bears; more than ever, in fact.

I respectfully disagree. I still see bears, but nothign like 2007, 8 and 9 before the 2010 hunt. I see a decline in sightings each subsequent year that is consistant with the decline in harvest numbers. I will be shocked if it's even over 200 this year.
