What turkey loads shoot the best for you? I'm thinking of testing #4 and #5's. Do you think 3 1/2
is too big for turkey?

stronski i use an 835.... winchester supremes 3and a half inch no5 good to 50 they have worked the best for me since i bought the gun[up]

I gave my father my 835. He shoots #5s out of it. Has never had to shoot twice. [hihi]

BF uses #4's
&
3 1/2 is not too big for turkey

Illegal round. Don't get caught with them...

As per the Fish & Wildlife Digest "No shot larger than #4 fine shot or smaller than #7 1/2 fine shot may be used for turkey hunting".

I found in MY gun the 3.5" Win Supreems in size 6 gave the best patterns but you would do well to try 4,5,+6 in other brands and even 3" to find out what YOUR 835 likes to eat and than spit out.
As was said before "Never had to shoot twice."

My gun works best for me when I shoot the Remington Duplex 4x6 (3") out of my Carlson Turkey Choke. The factory choke tubes don't perform as good at the aftermarket ones do. I have also used the Federal Flite-control in the #4 and #5 (both 3 1/2")with both patterning well.

I like it. I only patterned it in for buckshot so far. So I've only shot it about 5 or 6 times plus another 6 or so times at clay pigeons. I'll be shooting some more clays this weekend plus patterning it for turkey.

It's the first shotgun I've ever shot so I don't have anything to compare it too. I have a Benneli 20 gauge that I'll also shoot this weekend and I may borrow a friends Benneli 12 gauge that he wants to sell and shoot that one as well.
