Hey man takes no brains at all to be an idiot. Remember Newtown? Made all kinds of trouble for the modern sporting rifles in the country. Ridiculous laws passed/attempted everywhere.
The guns in question are so infrequently used in a crime it shouldn't matter. But the anti gun crowd ran with it.
You think animal rights people won't sway others thinking with pics, videos, etc of dead deer in general?
How bout towns passing ordinances against hunting because of these actions

And you guys wonder why people are against us? Use your heads n hunt far enough away so they don't fall in public view
This is jersey bro. Most of the places I hunt are on township property with township issued deer control permits. 6-10 acre wood lots. Or my buddy'a 36 acre farm bordered by a new construction retirement village. 9/10 times I watch the deer drop close to the stand. Every once in a rare while one may make it to the retirement village, golf course, etc. It happens. When the deer ran into the kids bday party, yea I felt like a total piece of crap, but it was funny to joke about it afterward. My favorite is when the people who bought the houses right on the border of the farm call the cops every time they hear a gunshot. They are the same ones that call the cops because they smell cow shit. Who woulda guessed? Moving into the house bordering a farm...

Not to mention, the reason the state has unlimited antler less and extended seasons is for deer reduction in highly populated residential areas, not to do 500 drives all winter long on wma's when they've all been wiped clean by December anyway. Suburban wood lots are the best places to hunt in the state if you could get permission on one. And btw, it's not too hard if you knock on some doors and don't act like a total ******* to the landowner. It's kinda like the resident goose problem. Ample bag limits, but you can't hunt em in corporate lots and playgrounds.

I understand the need to sometimes hunt near houses, but we need to endure perfect shots always and the f'ing morons who think its funny deer drop in sight of public are the reason we have probs.
hunt smart, shoot straight, cover your deer and gut piles.
People buying farms next to where we hunt is our problem.
Continuing to be able to hunt is our problem too.
Do stupid shit n the general public may be swayed against us.
Only 1 or 2 percent of residents either hunt or are dead set against it.
The rest may decide someday whether our sport is necessary.

Take a kid, woman, old man, disabled person, etc out n increase our numbers but teach them respect and awareness for others

shot a deer while hunting off the Appalachian trail by my house in the morning, i shot him at 10 yards great shot broke the shoulder, but of couse went far enough to drop right on the trail which looked like a murder scene, and of course my luck was there are 2 hikers coming up the trail with no time to drag it off into the woods. i felt terrible until they were actually nice guys and asked some questions about hunting and went on there way. and my friend had a beutiful buck die about 20 yards from a swingset in a gully last year..

years ago i shot a doe during bow season it i tracked it right to the pequest river. i looked up and there it was dead right in the middle stuck on a rock. luckily it wasnt cold out. walked out and dragged it back. drove home wet.

Not my deer, but I was goose hunting in a corn field about 3 years ago, nice November morning, chilly. We're sitting in our layout blinds when this really nice buck comes running out of the woods right towards us. I said holy shit look at this buck! He comes and stops right in our decoy spread, just standing there, you can see the breath coming out of his mouth from running. He just stands there for like 2 minutes and I'm wondering what the hell is wrong with this deer. I look closely and see blood dripping down his front leg and I put 2 and 2 together. He started jogging towards a highway that's about 80 yards behind us. I jumped out of my blind and quickly cut him off, forcing him back towards the woods. He's barely running at this point so I'm running behind him pushing him back the way he came. He gets about 20 yards from the edge of the woods and just collapses. I backed off and let him die. The bow hunter who shot him came out and thanked me for stopping him from going across the road and apologized for ruining our goose hunt. I said no worries man, congrats on a nice buck. He was a wide 8pt.

An area I've never hunted before in the gap,I hit this deer, great blood trail. All's I have is this weak mini mag it pitch darkness, and the trail just end's.I zigged an zagged, backtracked ,no deer.Next day I go back to the last blood, there was a ledge where you could only go left or right, well I look over the ledge, there he is at the bottom of a 20 foot drop.

years ago i shot a 4 ptr and it jumped a pasture fence and died right in the middle of the pasture. i didnt have permission to enter that farm and i knew they were antis. i decided to go get my deer quietly but as i climbed the fence the owners 2 big rotties were at the deer. damn dogs just laid down next to the buck guarding it. i decided then they could have it rather than they having me. 2 years later my nephew who was with me that day handed me my rack . the owners kid went to school with my nephew and one day they were talking and when my nephew found out it was his farm he told him about the buck. the kid said the dogs stayed with the buck until his dad drug it into the woods. they just threw the deer there to rot but the kid kept the rack. i have the rack on my wall now. my first deer a 13 ptr i shot while i was recovering from a hernia operation fell into a sticker hell. it was rolling around getting stuck so i grabbed a antler and drug him out. i had more stickers in me than he did. my arrow had hit his spine but he still fault as hard as he could. the buck dressed 198 in 1986 and my cousin and i drug that deer 300 yds to the edge of a corn field where i could get my 74 ford country squire wagon to get it. still wish i had kept that car 351 cleveland had more balls than any car i had

Had a buck drop into the only ravine on the property. 15' deep almost staight sides. Took me 2hrs to get him out of the hole and then a 500yrd drag to the truck. Was sooo tired took me another 40min just to put him on the tailgate. Of course it was in Nov. so everyone I called was hunting couldn't get any help.

I used to hunt a property along Rt 206. I had shot a big doe with my bow and it ran towards the highway. I tracked it to the road where there was a big blood spot on the shoulder of the road but no deer. I looked up the road to see my deer loaded in the back of a beat up truck driving away. Guess the deer fell dead on the shoulder and they needed the meat more than I did. :disgust:
