After a random hard rattle tonight I had a bruiser come in fast on mission to kick some ass. I ranged a few spots in the direction he was going at 28 yards. As he approached the two spots moving kinda fast I grunted to stop him and he stopped with a perfect broadside shot. Only problem was the tree that he stopped behind blocking a good shot. He started to to walk off on the same trail and I stopped him once again only to have the same result. No shot! He turned and walked away from me and that was all she wrote. I had a major rush, but was still in complete control of my bow and mind which decided not to make a bad decision. They are definitely moving. I saw 5 different buck tonight in the snow flurries here in 2C. I would love to have had a shot at this guy who I have never seen on the property before especially since archery is done next Saturday. One more outing for me then it's time to take one with my 357. In December. I always wanted To know what it was like to have a big guy in range and how I would react. Tonight was a great night even though I didn't connect and I think that is what it is all about.

Good luck getting him, I know the feeling. I've been full draw only twice on a 120+ buck and no shot both times, similar to your situation and it's frustrating. It's the damned if you do, damned if you don't thing. If you put a bad shot out there, it's a sleepless night. If you never get a shot off, it's a sleepless night wondering what if... that's why my wife says we're all nuts.

All you had to do was wing it, hope for a good connection and then come in here asking for a tracking dog. What came over you...responsibility?[confused] JK...you made the right call and are a better hunter for it![up]
