What a morning!!! Walked in and the woods stunk like deer [up]. Bumped a snorter on the way in. After sitting a while I moved to grab rattling antlers and was completely surprised when a doe and fawn snuck up behind me... snort and they ran off. Half hour later a spike came back with this doe and her two fawns in tow bout 830am. The dang doe looked like a MOOSE! Her head and neck looked like it came off a nice buck! Well... she got the G5 T3 to the heater, ran 10 yards, reared up and expired basically at the bottom of my tree. I figure its early so I grab my phone, check in the doe... KEEP HUNTING!!! Maybe another 30 minutes or so goes by and the fawns come back. They are lookin for mommy. They kept circling around my tree trying to figure out what happened to her, etc. It was a doe and a button. They would run off, come back, run around some more, come back, etc etc. Bout 9:45 I figured I'd call it a morning, no big bucks, baby doe got a T3 in the heater too! She ran bout 20 yards and expired. Button and spike got a pass for another day.

Does teeth were ground down to like nothing! old doe... first time I actually struggled to get a doe on the hitch haul LOL. Damn deer musta been over 150lbs.

An old doe like that can be harder to outfox than a buck ... congrats on your accomplishment. [up]

I think this is the doe... came through at ~4am. I've seen 8pt bucks with smaller heads than that! HAHAH!

FYI, I haven't put out bait in a month... feeder is empty.

video of the spike comin though... you can see the doe with fawns in the background top left

Button lookin for mommy....

yeah I've been hunting HARDDD since fall bow opener. I had three real nice 8pt bucks at this stand and I couldn't shoot them. I then went from that to nothing until last weekends decent doe. I want to put some meat in the freezer... plenty of time left in the rut now to pass up does and see if a buck is chasing. Besides no way a doe that big was walking...dont care what the date is!!

I brought over the last three to Big Dog Processing off Hart street in Sayreville. They did a good job on my doe last weekend so they get two more! I could have butchered em today, temps are right... its easier with a 5mo baby to pay to get it done. Def hard for me to be home and cooped up in the garage chopping up deer while the baby is upstairs waiting for attention.

Funny thing is I could have killed all three of em if I wanted to HAHAH! I could have shot the doe fawn, checked it in, then shot the button. The button came back after the doe fawn went down. I stayed up in the tree a while and had checked in the fawn before I got down. Could have popped number 3. Lol... seemed bit greedy and it was a button [hihi][hihi][hihi]
