geeze feel useless...seeing that pic I realize now how clueless I am I probally walked over a dozen deer thinking they were a log..[confused]:D

WOW can you say "camo"? that first pic is amazing. :)

i actually saw the deer in the first pic and if u look closely you can see a tick on his right ear [hihi]

few years back i was walking thru a field like that and all of a sudden i hear noise, look back and see a doe fleeing about 3 yards from me....they are good at hidding [up]

Back when I was in a club we did some drives along the railroad tracks up by the Rockport Pheasant farm.
After one of the drives my buddy Mike yells to this guy Bob to walk through this 5foot by 5 foot clump of 3 ft tall grass. Mike had seen a deer move into that area and it never came out to the tracks. Bob yelled back to him "I just walked right next to that gr [no swearing please] and there isn't anything there!" Now we are all standing maybe 15feet away from this clump of gr [no swearing please] talking and Mike walks over to me and says "do me a favor and walk through that clump of gr [no swearing please] right there." I thought to myself this is stupid but it will put Mikes mind at ease so I walk over to this clump of gr [no swearing please] and look at it. Nothing! I take one step in and up jumps this doe out of nowhere!!!! Scared the living crap out of me! I pulled up the gun and took her out on the second leap with a load of buckshot straight up her butt! The wad from my shell was actually stuck in her butt!

I looked into that 3 foot tall gr [no swearing please] and saw nothing! She was no more then 3 feet away from me and I couldn't see her! She let 10-15 guys stand and talk for 5 minutes no more then 10-15 feet away! If I didn't walk into that gr [no swearing please] we would have never known she was there!

How many other times do you think that has happened when someone DIDN'T walk into the grass. I wonder how close I've gotten to deer without ever knowing it????[confused]

Hey JJ those Hazen Rd deer are smart , lot's of places to hide.
My friend owns the 170acr farm on the other side of the tracks , and that is not an easy drive.
That is CVGC that pushes that lower piece , I hear they get a good one on that drive every year.
