So who do you play ball for and my I suggest that you join a hunting club for under a grand you find have to deal with the public you can put up a stand bait it you got your own spot if you need help a friend is usually near by and access to hundreds mabe a thousand private acres also you can bow hunt private land on Sundays
I'm in the minors for the Reds right now hoping I'll be in Double-A next season which is down in Florida.

As soon as I get a permanent place of residence with the girlfriend whether that's in Virginia or North Carolina, I'll look into private clubs that are in my price range. For the temporary hunting trips in NJ though, what do you recommend my course of action should be on just making day trips out of it?

Your going to have to do public land then not worth it to me my club gets around 850 ish for me its better what I can recommend is find son public land that good for you and hike 2-3 miles in and you should be solo you may even be able to leave a stand in the woods set up in advance there are cheap ones to be had so if I gets damaged lost or stolen its not the end of the world hopefully you got a pickup and a quad for game retrieval

Do you think I would be able to take my first yote somewhere after killing it so a more experienced hunter can show me how to properly skin it?

Or should I just do some research and watch videos on the proper technique?

Hey guys, Mike here. When I'm not traveling all over the country for baseball, I live down in Ocean County. I recently built my first AR15 and purchased my first bolt-action (.308). I would seriously like to get into hunting and figured this would be the best place to seek some advice and tips!

I'm going to get my license as soon as I get home from a rehab assignment in AZ the first week of October and hopefully go on my first 'yote trip ASAP.

I have all the necessary equipment/clothing for some cold-weather hunting trips, but I'm asking you all for some advice and DO's & DONT's of the hunting world that I won't learn in the basic hunting courses.

My off-seasons last from October to March, before I have to head out west for Spring Training and my season lasts until September. So, during my time at home, I'm looking for long days in the wilderness to get away, clear my head, and enjoy the beauty of hunting.

I hope I'm not too big of a pain in the a** by doing this, but I'm going to re-post this in one or two other topics in case this one gets buried from inactivity or whatever.

Thank you for your help in advance and I can't wait to get out there and start my hunting career!
Why did we need to know you were (are) a professional BB player?
Welcome to the site and good luck with hunting and playoffs

If you're looking for info on hunting yotes, get in touch with GobblerGetter. Although he mostly traps them, he also hunts them and he's one of the best trappers on this site and in New Jersey overall. I think it was last year where, for a fee, he would allow site members to tag along for a day afield with him and there were some members who did just that. By the way, welcome to the site.

Welcome to the site and the world of hunting. Try getting into bow hunting cause its a lot longer season that helps (Sept.-Feb.). Learn to be a good bow hunter and most of the other types of hunting becomes easier. Good luck

Again, thank you for the nice welcome. I'll be sure to refer to this forum a lot in my near future seems like a good group of guys willing to help each other out.

REALTREE83, I am kind of on a budget given my career at the moment so I kind of broke the bank on my recent AR build and rifle purchase, so getting a NJ-Deer-legal shotgun/bow is out of the question at the moment [wallmad]

Now even if I don't see one coyote this winter, I will still have a blast hiking a few miles into the woods and spending the day outdoors.
