First MT Muley Mount

With the move and all its been a few years since I've done any real mounts,Well got back in the swing , this is the first mount completed for me out here.
He's a 5 x 5 with a damaged right side but a very nice deer.





Mounted the huge Badger I caught and he is drying now and have the 2 white mink I trapped last year ready to mount tomorrow morning.
Feels good to work in the shop again.

Nice[up] Great character too. Im pretty sure you mentioned EHD or something hit your area a few years ago?? Hows the come back been??

Yeah the winter of 2010-2011 was hard out here, they had 10 ft of snow and a huge amount of the Muledeer and Pronhorns starved.
Then in the spring when we moved here came the floods from the snowmelt and rains, the milk river was a mile from its banks and all the whitetails that fared well during the winter got pushed out of the tree line along the river. We had about 3 doz staying on our little 40 acres alone.
With that came the EHD and that killed a large number of the white tails.

Since then the numbers are coming back but it will be a few years before its back to normal.
Still better hunting then Jersey.
