Hey guys, getting married on 9/7 at the Walpack inn. Obviously our theme is rustic and the little lady wants to use birch trees, pine cones and antlers as the centerpieces for the tables. Have the pine cones, and the antlers. What I need is white birches. About as thick around as a beer can and all different heights. I am gonna drill them out with a hole saw and candles will go in them. I have a tons of birch on our property upstate but its 3.5 hours away, we just bought a house and needless to say its been hectic. Does anyone have any white birches that you wouldn't miss? I probably only need 2-4 trees. Ill bring beer or pay you what you want. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As soon as we say I do there going in the woodstove ha. I am just ready for the day to come and go and we can head to Montana for 2 weeks and flyfish for our honey moon. Let me know if anyone can help me out.

We cut our last ones big enough for what you need, unfortunately. Every Christmas my wife makes me cut down a birch, cut them into 3" - 7" lengths, bore candle holes in them, and then she wood burns different designs into them and gives them to friends and neighbors as gifts. If I see one nearby at least 3" thick, I'll let you know.

Where in MT are you going FFing? Their trico hatch has been great this year so far. You should have those mayflies, various caddis, and grasshoppers when you go. Best of luck with the wedding!

I just did something similar for a friends wedding in February, but using a different kind of tree (not sure what), since it didn't have the white birch look, I ended up spray painting them with a glitter spray and it came out really nicely. I can send you a pic to give you an idea in case you can't get your hands on some white birch.

Enjoy! BTW, aspen often does the job although it is more greenish colored than white like birch is. But it is close if you can't find the birch locally. Looks like some folks reached out to help so good luck with everything.

I have quite a large one in my yard that half of it appears to have died this year. Let me take a closer look at it tomorrow and talk to the old lady and see what she wants to do. If she is cool with cutting it down you can have the wood you just have to come cut it down and not drop it on my house! [hihi]
