It depends on the zone. Some areas have very little need to kill a lot of doe's and others due to human population need to kill a lot in order to help reduce accidents and conflicts.
Bingo [up]

there really is no state wide bag limit solution to this question...

...Exactly.. The deer herd in my area is robust.. And i cant tell you how many are killed by auto every year.. There is a fresh road kill on the side of the road daily. I've hit 3 myself in the 5 years i've lived here and last year i dam near totaled my wifes brand new lexus. Not to mention the close calls. Almost everyone in town has the same story.. I live on a 3 acre property.. There is a doe who beds daily about 75' from my garage.. there is a nice 6 pointer who beds in my front garden.. there are 2 does and 3 fawns who seeming live in a patch of cover i have in the middle of the yard.. And this is just MY little 3 acre piece

Sometimes they like to bed under bridges to keep cool. Its not as big as your 200' bridge, but you get the picture.
I rode past this guy and over him numerous times over a 4 day period, and he didnt budge except at dusk to go feed in my food plots

Really 50???? I think I smell bullshit. I know a guy that counts every doe as 2 figuring she would produce at least one a year respectfully.
i also know of a guy putting up those numbers.
then wonders why his buddies won't take him to their pieces.

I personally know of a couple guys that have killed over fifty does in one year! I believe this to be excessive.Limit of six per season maybe in order.
Ehhh depends where you are IMO. If you have almost nothing but does, then why not take out 10 a season. NJdeer, how many guys are you talking about? Was it like 3 guys and they took out a total of 50 doe between them?

I agree you should be able to harvest as many as the state allows. However i would like to see the buck harvest reduced. 2 bucks a year by any weapon should be max. Our buck to doe ratio is way out of whack in most zones in this state. I hunt Ohio also where I have a lease and you are only allowed 1 buck per year and in my County you can take 5 does. The buck to doe ratio on our lease is about 2 does to 1 buck. And many are mature bucks, shooting a 3-5 year old buck is the norm not the exception. I agree NJ does not have the vast farms or open spaces, but 5 bucks per year is too many, IMHO.

See if I got four doe a year my freezer would be full. And I only hunt one buck a year so five total my areas I see 20+ doe at a clip and when I see a buck its a good one
