Just got the aplication for my FID card today. Filled it out for the card and 3 pistol permits. Have to call tuesday to state troopers baracks in augusta to set up my appointment to hand the aplication in. I will keep tabs here to see how long it takes from start to finish to get my card and permits. What do you fuys think it will take?

Well when I called them before they never knew my name they just transfered me to the back and never answered till today when they gave me my appointment I never had to give my name before that

Well I went to my appointment to turn my paperwork in for three pistol permits and my fid card on the 23rd. They gave me the application for my finger prints and had me fill it out while I was there. I left and called the print place and got an appointment for friday and on my way home the state police called me and said my motor vehicle address didn't match the address on my paperwork so I went the next day and fixed that. I called them like I was told to do so they would know I changed the address and left a message for them since its almost impossible to get them on the phone. I got my finger prints taken friday and called the state police to see if they need my sheet for proof that I got them taken and have yet to get an answer on if they need my recipt for proof the finger prints were done. I was told while at the police station that after they get my finger prints it will take four to five months to get the fid card. Both of my references have already recived their stuff filed it out and returned it. For something that by law is supposed to be 30 days five months seems over the top

Since I started this thread the 15th of fubruary and it is now the end of april it looks like it will around 7 months from the day I filled out the paperwork to recive a fid card wow

Six weeks would be nice its been over two and a half months just to get the ball rolling and they said another five months for a response

Does anyone know if anyone has ever attempted to get the 30 day law enforced in some way

So it has now been almost 4 months since I started this thread. What do you guys think is a good time limit to start calling the state police to check on the status of my card? The law is 30 days correct?

Just got in touch with the state police was told at least another month or two before they hear anything

Well still waiting called them a month ago was told they got most of the stuff back and it should be soon and still nothing

I did mine through my local police department and just was beyond annoying to them. I literally called every day. And I got mine in 35 days. That was a couple years ago so maybe that has changed but seemed to work. They told me to stop calling but I didn't

Well still waiting on an answer several calls and all I hear is any day we have some permits that have been waiting since before you be patient
