All true. I wouldnt have any concern about that picture either. The only pictures of me with guns are at a legal range Showing obvious safety measures.True, could have safety checked the gun before takin the photo. Potentially pointed in a safe direction, finger off trigger, obviously not screwing around. Just takin a photo with his 15/22. I would post a photo like that without fear of a swat team showing up at my house.
I agree, We should flood their phones and E-mails now and DEMAND to know why credentials were not shown. Some stranger taking someone's kid is illegal, Did she show the cops her papers? How would WE know if she did or not? We have to show our papers when requested to do so.I think a few more calls to the Trenton office might be in order.
Registered ??!!They wanted to look around and check all my guns out, make sure they were all registered.
What's scary is the amount of people on Facebook. The scariest part of all this might be the comments about the story on the NJ 12 Facebook page.
I checked out the article, and it's actually not as terrible as I'd expected. They actually admitted that the gun wasn't an "assault weapon."leave it up to NJ.com to write a lopsided article like this... wow scatterbrain journalism
Salem County dad's Facebook gun photo: How could authorities have ignored it? | NJ.com
add a digit for what? It was a 22lr, they ran the story as if it were a toy then went back and edited it. Stating it was a .22 is correct.I checked out the article, and it's actually not as terrible as I'd expected. They actually admitted that the gun wasn't an "assault weapon."
"The gun turned out to be a .22 caliber housed in a replica of an assault rifle, although that was far from clear from the photo."
Now, if they'd only add one digit to .22, we'd be getting somewhere.
The PD did nothing but escort the nut from DYFS. They requested an escort since it was night time and there was firearms at the residence. Standard procedure for those dipshits to request a local or state PD escort whenever they feel threatened. The PD had nothing to do with this other than walking to the door with her. What gets me is that (4) police officers (GROWN MEN) ..That know this is not right still go ahead with this..If any of those officers were off duty and police came to their house with the same concern..they would act the same as this home owner did..i just don't get it why just because you carry a badge you follow along without speaking out ..saying "this is wrong and we know it".
escorting is one thing, making terroristic threats to obtain permission to conduct an illegal search is another...The PD had nothing to do with this other than walking to the door with her.
