Anyone use Durakote's spray kit seen here: Manufacturer of DuraCoat Firearm Finishes: Shake 'N Spray

Looks like a cool kit for $40 bucks but not baking it on worries me. I'm looking to do my slide and have it look like this

I was also looking into the Cerokote kits but I can't justify spending $200 on a kit, I know it's getting popular and guys are doing gun parts for some cash, does anyone know of any good gun coating guys in NJ? I don't want to send the slide out.
Thanks

Me personaly, am really not too worried about the slide on a glock. Nothing really to screw up if you take some precautions. Coatings have been around long enough to prove they can be done without ruining a gun but then again I don't know how guys coat polymer and how well it sticks, I wasn't going to to the guns frame. With gaining popularity comes competition between companies and I want to know what company works the best for the best price, basically what everyone wants to know about any topic.

IMO - The tenifer finish on the slide is much more durable than cerakote, and the both are much more durable than durakote.
I did have my rifle cerakoted a few years back, and the gunsmith that did the work divulged to me that if it wasn't baked-on, it was useless.

How did your rifle hold up? I'm not doing the polymer on my gun just the slide and was thinking about baking the durakote or pay someone to apply the carakote, it's only a slide so I can't see it being a ton of money.

Cool thanks flat, the coating isnt going to be as good as factory glock coating but if it holds up i would be interested in doing it. I'm not going to coat the polymer just the slide. My frame is dark earth in color so I'm going to do the slide in green.

I'm planning on spraying it myself but with some kind if baked in process from a kit, nothing's wrong with the gun but eventually I want to change the slide color I think. Ill pay to have it done if its reasonable. I like the way the two tone gun looks just an opinion I have. It's already two tone though (dark earth frame and black slide)
