I thought he was dead

Out pushing some deer around hoping to fill a winter bow tag and NJbowhunto4 comes out with a shed to one of the bucks I was after last year.I got a few pics of him last year and he only made one appearance during legal shooting time and I was at the Harrisburg show last February instead of in my stand. Never saw the deer or got a pic of him this year so I assumed he was dead.This shed was found a 1/4 mile from my camera today. Amazing how that camera has been there for 5 months and he never got his picture taken. At least I know I have another good one that survived the season. Cant wait to see this deer next fall.
I am pretty sure this is the same deer.

The shed is perfect. Not one chew mark on it and still has color. If it was last year, You would think it would be bleached white

Looks like the brow time and main beam have been sitting in the leaves awhile with that brown color on them. Just a thought.

looks like last year shed to me.they dont lose color and get stained that quickly unless thier laying in water.

Not one chew mark on it and still has color

.. I have a shed right in front of me right now that i found back in Novenmber and i know for a fact its 2 years old.. Still has color and no chew marks.. Tried to take a pic and post it but my camera battery is dead.. oh well..

I see the staining and agree that it looks like it been layin a while but, in my neck of the woods, that thing would be chewed to death by mice inside of 2 weeks on the ground.
