NY to ban private firearm sales

Looks Like NY is realy slamming down. here's the quote from MSN:

Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York has hammered out a tentative agreement with lawmakers to ban ammunition magazines that carry more than seven bullets and to further expand the state's assault weapons ban, the AP reported Monday. The governor's agreement with lawmakers includes comprehensive background checks so that all gun buyers must undergo one even if they are buying a weapon from a private seller.

So in NY you get a 7 shot capacity, expanded ban on modern sporting arms, and complete accross the board background check that is "comprehensive". God only knows what "comprehensive" is.

Worse of all is there's already an "agreement with lawmakers" meaning that the Senate and Legislature have indicated they have enough votes to pass this.

do they even make mags that hold seven rounds?

and the private background check is going to do wonders to cut down on the number of illegal guns being sold between thugs. the only other thing that i can see would be more proactive is restrict the thugs, i mean law abiding citizens, to only one hand gun a month.

There are some smaller guns that do but not many. That's the point. Most manufacturers won't go out of their way to make 7 round magazines and that will effectively ban many semi-autos.
