Lost!!!

OK How many times have you gotten lost in the woods?

I was hunting in NY state Oswego Cpunty one year. The camp was on the very top of the mountain. First day I head out and figure I will go down the mountain until I find a run then at dark just go back up to the top and I'm good. Dark starts creeping in I head up to the top. No camp lol. What the hell? Well after 3 trips down and up I figure I better use my head as it is dark. I go down until I find a stream and follow the stream and finally come to a road. First truck that goes by I flag down and luckily they know the camp and take me back.

I never told the guys at camp I was lost [hihi]

OK now that you have outed yurself I feel the time has come for me to step forward.
Once a while back after 2 weeks in Key West I became "Lost" in long term parking @ Newark Airport and ended up going to each and every space in the lot looking for my truck I than realised I had taken my car there and had to do it all over again! Does that count? [lol]

Many years ago I was hunting the in upstate New York. There were four of us hunting. Same thing happened to me as dark starting creeping in I began to come out of the woods only to get completely turned around. After some time I came upon a stream followed it and in the distance saw smoke rising. I crossed the stream keeping the smoke in my sights the entire time. I cam out on a road about 1/2 from where the trucks were parked.

While chasing grouse I can easily get off track looking for a reflush.

Many a time I have popped out on a dirt road then need to guess which way the car was.

No more as the power of GPS is attached to my hip...and extra batteries!

Lost, plenty of times, one time for several hours in dense fog not 2 miles from were I live know. Big one was in Idaho elk hunting, guide drops me off, say's meet other hunter at dark then go to trail follow it until you see the clearing. We will be there with mules, that didn't happen. Glade we had walkie talkies.

First time i hunted the Big fields at Black river I had a hard time finding my way out so i stopped a guy mowing the hedge rows with a bush hog and asked for directions.. He said "that happens alot around here".. I was only 2 fields away from my SUV..:eek:

This winter at the Garden State Plaza, took the bench by Victoria Secrets while my wife and daughters went into Pandora. Well I must not have been paying attention and the three of them continued to shop and I was out in no mans land. This is where Boys Scouting paid off, if lost stay put and enjoy the sights.

Lewis county upstate new york. I got turned around early bow and it started getting dark. It was so thick i had no clue where i was. My brother came looking for me on his quad and i ended up being 100 yards off our quad trail.

I dont know if it counts as lost, but one time hunting behind the houses on greystone rd in old bridge. I followed a trail from the house that let me park and put up my stand. Well when it got dark i climbed down and the trail was gone. I could see the lights on the houses but the briar back there is so thick i couldnt get out. Took me like fortyfive minutes and a half gallon of blood to get out.[wallmad]

Opening morning of six day this yr in the fog.. what normally would have taken 15 mins to walk into my stand took over an hr. I got so turned around cus of the thick fog. Needless to say i marked the trail out that afternoon
