I can think of three offhand who have CCW.

Arthur Sulzberger, Jr (publisher of the NYT)
Dianne Feinstein (needs no introduction)
and as I just learned
Joseph Cryon (state assemblyman behind 5 round magazine limit)

It's an interesting phenomenon that the most rabid anti-gunner seem to have the deepest fascination.

Any others?

Lets not forget Bloomberg has bodyquards.

It's all about being a member of a more exclusive club. Pretty soon having a permit to carry will make you a part of a higher social class. What the hell does that idiot Cryon need a CCW for?! He's a member of the third lowest level of elected government possible.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. These politicians are so out of touch with reality, it's sickening. I'm a leo, I carry off duty just about everywhere. I would love to see more law abiding citizens with the right to carry a firearm. There's enough bad guys out there with guns, it's time for the good guys to be able to carry IMO. These politicians don't give a shit about the everyday person, they truly believe that their lives are more important than yours. It's typical elitism ...

"elitism"

1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.

Question to LEOs,

How much training is standard before you are permitted to carry a weapon, and what are the yearly maintenance requirements?

If we agreed to require the same amount of training and degree of background check for a citizen to carry, I don't see how the civilian accident rate would be any higher than the (low) LEO accident rate.

it really is amazing what kinda crap politicians pull. One perfect example is the whole open space/protected land nonsense. It sounds all fine and dandy, until you realize politicians use the knowledge about what properties are going to be bought using taxpayers dollars and invest their own money in neighboring properties. So they buy some cushy house that backs up to some privately owned woods or something... next thing you know the woods become state protected land and the adjacent property values skyrocket. Guess who made out like a bandit? Either that or they use the name open space to buy up land, then reallocate that land for their own pet projects like on rt535 in east brunswick. The playhouse 22 building, and road, and parking lot, was built on open space preservation land purchased a few years prior. lies lies and more lies...
