Don't worry Slingha, of all the "dumb questions" this is one of the more legitimate I've seen on here. Some of the questions asked and even info given on here is so ridiculous it leads me to believe there's no way in hell these people have ever touched a compendium, let alone read one. I'm actually becoming more and more afraid to share the woods with some of these people.

"Hunting down" with your archery equipment is ONLY allowed during 6-day firearm.

You can NOT hunt down with archery equipment during any other firearm season.

Since 6 day is Mon. - Sat. you can NOT shoot a buck on Sunday with your bow and check it in as a 6-day kill.

This info can be found in the chart labeled "Firearms, Bows and Ammunition legal for Deer hunting" (not sure which page because I used the digital version to double check)

So sounds like you're done shooting bucks with your bow until Winter Bow season. Congrats on your harvests and good luck come Winter Bow.

slingha, Matty is right on, so was I for that matter... like everything else we've pm'ed about and to my kids knowledge, I'm always right [hihi] j/k

Take the next month to pattern a big one, there's a couple over there that I know made it through 6-day, good luck.

can anyone name the page that it says you can use a bow permit to tag a buck you shot with your gun during 6 day? I
You can't use your permit bow tag. You must use the tags that come with your firearms license if you shoot a buck during six day with your bow.

If you look up the section that specifies weapons and ammo it will tell you what can be used during what season.

can anyone name the page that it says you can use a bow permit to tag a buck you shot with your gun during 6 day? I have never heard that you can transfer tags.
Not sure anyone said that. You can shoot a buck with a bow during 6 Day and tag it using your shotgun buck tag so you don't "burn" your permit bow buck tag. But you can't use a bow permit tag to tag a shotgun killed buck during 6 Day (or any other time).

Muzzleloader season is Muzzy only, you cannot use your bow

Shotgun Permit season is shotgun only, you cannot use your bow.

Six Day Firearm is two bucks taken with a BOW, SHOTGUN or MUZZY.

Slingha: You are done shooting bucks with your bow until Winter Bow Season. If you want to shoot a buck then you have to pick up a gun.

Just another FYI. You. Can't use a muzzleloading rifle during permit shotgun. You can use a smoothbore muzzleloader using buckshot. Or a single projecttile. Just no rifles

Looks to be in the works.....May be a push coming for it....

ASSEMBLY, No. 1538
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
214th LEGISLATURE
INTRODUCED MAY 23, 2011
Sponsored by:
Assemblyman JOHN J. BURZICHELLI District 3 (Salem, Cumberland and Gloucester) Assemblywoman ALISON LITTELL MCHOSE District 24 (Sussex, Hunterdon and Morris)
SYNOPSIS
Authorizes deer hunting with firearm on Sundays on private property.
CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT As introduced

From an NRA press release:

On Monday, December 10, the Assembly Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee voted unanimously, 5-0, to allow deer hunting on Sundays on private property. New Jersey is one of only eleven states that restrict or ban hunting on Sundays.

Assembly Bill 1538, sponsored by Assemblymen John Burzichelli and Alison Little McHose, is an important step toward removing all Sunday hunting barriers in the Garden State and is strongly supported by the NRA. This measure is necessary to enhance essential hunter recruitment and retention efforts. This bill is now on the Assembly calendar for consideration but it has not been scheduled for action.
