Here you go guys im sure you have all been waiting for these pictures!I was sitting in my stand for only half an hour before this guy walked in front of me. I didnt realize it was this big though. I took one shot at it right in the lungs, pumped my 870 for a second shot and my gun jammed. It tried to load two shells at once. So I had to stick my finger down and push the one shell back into the magazine tube. (which i was not able to do the day before). I got off two more shots. One 2 inches from the first shot and another one back further. I went to load more into the gun but the bear was down before I got a chance.
My buddy saw me shoot so he called to ask what it was. He came over and when we walked up up the bear our jaws dropped at the size of it. everyone thought it was around 500 lbs but when we got to the check in station the scale read 702 lbs. We all went crazy.
This is the first bear I have ever shot. I am only 20 years old and will probably never see one this big again. I am going to get a full body mount because anything else would be a crime.
it measured 7'2" from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail.
Official weight is 702 lbs.
Amazing animal and I am so blessed to be able to shoot it.
