Well first and last time at Big Brook ! Went to bait today and guess what, someone setup 30-40 yds up from me cutting off my deer run to my stand [cry]

It is what it is, not mad just disappointed and I guess from other posts here, I figured that would happen such a small area. Seems like all the stands are are in the same vicinity .This is my alternate, after work spot so not too big of a deal, but it just goes to show you how nobody gives a shit.

Good luck to the monmouth park guys tomorrow. [up]

HAHAH... big brook... if you wanna make hunting buddies you should hunt there!! Lots of guys to chat with while you are sitting in your tree... and always someone to shoot the shit with in the parking lot! [rofl][rofl]

I'm shocked they were setting up so late! Most people are waiting in the parking lot at 4:59am with stand in hand.

diverrk, just because there is a stand there does not mean someone will be in it when you are there. It could be their 3rd or 4th alternate stand. I had someone set up near my alternate stand at Big Brook one year and still shot deer, one was a six point, I also let quite a few walk as well. Point being, all is not lost, don't give up so easy. Your'e right about people setting up in the same area though... but that just makes me set up somewhere else. [smoke]

You posted it was your first time there & you're baiting already... Dick move 100%. Baiting on public land is unique , unless you have hunted the spot or know that nobody is already working the area only a fool would just move in. Sorry if that offends you but it's just hone way it is. You would want some whole baiting the spot that you have hunted for years then don't do it to somebody else .

Idk about that. Big brook is notoriously overcrowded. Chances are you're gonna have someone near you regardless of where you setup. So you put your new stand in and put down corn at the same time. Can't blame a guy for that... It's exactly what I did, granted I'm on some new Monmouth property that has no spots guys call theirs.

just don't bait, those deer know bait piles mean DEATH. I work off of other hunters who bait and scare the deer away, I know where they go when they get hesitant and take advantage. So if you want to bait, go right ahead it is only a waste of money, your making them bigger for me ha ha
