Do yourself a favor and take another picture on a light color towel. Black on black...cant really see the gun.

Chamber length and the difference in case thickness between commercial brass and military brass are two areas to concern yourself with. Another difference are the different SAAMI pressures the two are loaded to.
The SA M1A gas actions are designed to handle a cartridge operating at a maximum of 55,000 PSI. Commercial .308 Win. ammo has a SAAMI/ANSI maximum pressure of 62,000 PSI.

308 and 7.62 are a bit diff, 7.62 gun can fire both...308 hit or miss[smoke]
