Thanks, I agree about the top being too dark, but it's only in the photo..
I take pics on a black backdrop then increase the shadows to darken the background,. Sometimes it effects the coloring in the mounts, but I don't know how to take professional photos and fix that. :(

Thanks tho! Constructive criticism is always welcome , it's the only way to get better!

Saw this mount in person. Awesome work Jay, pic does it no justice! ;) [up][up][up]

I've never seen gold in a live striper.
thanks for the reference pics Red65[up] (click that link for the proof) lol..

Theres alot that taxidermists notice in the colors that make up a fish that most fishermen dont realize... I also didnt know half the colors fish had until i started doing fish mounts... i actually had to train my eye to break apart a picture to see each scale individually to notice what colors make up each scale.

each scale has numerous colors... and each color is seen at different angles. (just like when you take a fish and tilt it in the sun...)

I try to use paints and have the scales do the same.

THe fish i painted looks gold in all photos because of the flash.. in person the gold is very dull depending on where the lighting is shining on it..

Jay, why dont you take it ouside and take a pic? Im curious of the color difference. [confused]

Just was gonna go out and take pics and started raining. Lol,

I snapped a few pics with my phone in my showroom of it from different angles to show the way the gold can be seen from different angles and how brilliant or dull it can be depending on angle light hits it ( just like a real fish scale will)

Excuse the crappy pics.
